Maroochy Head of the River

Sunday 24 September saw a strong contingent of Maroochy sailors register for the Annual Head of the River Event. They were joined by visitors from Brisbane and the Gold Coast Clubs.

The grey skies and threat of showers did not deter the sailors, who were faced with a strong ebbing tide and fluctuating south-east breezes. In the early afternoon, the long race for the Senior Fleet was shortened as the breeze faded away. Sailors returned to the clubhouse to a enjoy some great food prepared by the ladies in our recently re-furbished canteen and brand new BBQ!
