Sunday Sailing - Fortnight Break!
/A Reminder to all members and friends that no Sailing is scheduled for Maroochy over the next 2 coming Sundays - 20 and 27 September.
Many of our Youth Fleet (and their parents) are heading North to Yeppoon to participate in Queensland Youth Week - a major event organised by Australian Sailing. They will join with other yonng sailors from Brisbane to Cairns ( and maybe further north) and some inter-state visitors for a week of training activities and competition. This involvement of most of our young sailors, and their parents who act as Officials and Support Staff for our Club Racing, leaves us quite short staffed for our Club Races - hence the decision to take a two Sunday Break!
Club Racing will resume on Sunday 4 October with a 2 race Long Course event scheduled!
We wish our young sailors and their parents a safe journey, good weather and an enjoyable, but informative, experience!
A Tackers 1 Course will be held at Maroochy over 4 days from 29 September to 2 October - 18 young aspiring sailors will take to the water under the watchful eye of our Instructing Team. This course is fully booked.
Commencing in October and extending into November is an eagerly awaited Tackers 2 Course on Sunday Mornings where young sailors face the challenge of sailing solo for the first time! In the afternoon, our Green Fleeters will join our afternoon racing fleet for Course Sailing with the support of our Tackers Instructing Team as they develop their decision making skills and persistence!
