A two-crew boat, they were popular with teenagers, couples or father and son/daughter crews.
Cat rigged, they carried a single large mainsail, and spinnaker downwind where they had exciting performance.
More Senior Maroochy Members such as Peter Bradford, Peter Brodie, John Henry, and Keith Campbell sailed Thorpes in their younger days!
