Maroochy Sailing Club’s unique Head of the River event will be held on Sunday 10 March , with a start time of 10.00am.
This event was first sailed in the Club’s Foundation year in 1959, and is a feature of event on each year’s sailing program - a race like no other.
Explore the Maroochy from the sandbanks from the mouth, under the Sunshine Coast Motorway bridges, to the mangroves and mud banks of the Bli Bli reaches.
Sail in race mode to try to win the Head of River Trophies, or cruise more sedately taking in the sights and sounds of the Maroochy, and enjoying the company and camaraderie of other sailors.
All off-the-beach Dinghies and Catamarans welcome - Arrow cats to Optimists, Tasars to Sabots - providing you can fit under the bridge!
The Notice of Race has just been released.
All Club Members , including Adventurers, Green Fleeters, and Tackers groups are invited to participate - a modified fun race will operate for the Tackers 2 and 3 groups (combined)
There is usually a high demand for the hire of Club Pacers for this event - please make your bookings well beforehand to secure a boat - Booking list on the Noticeboard at the Clubhouse, or contact Gard.
