Thanks to Gard for this report:
A shifty north westerly finally settled in the north by 1.30 pm when the 5 short courses were to start. We ended up with a squashed in feeling with astart line off Bradman Avenue and a top mark off the jetski area...possibly the narrowest part of the Maroochy River!
However the trapezoidal course provided plenty of competitive sailing for the fleet and while the breeze strengthened giving the fleet sparklingreaches, the forecast 15 knot NE never eventuated.
Riley deserves a mention this week, as whilst he sailed alone in his Opti hedemonstrated he's really got a handle on this sailing-lark with some fast times and held his nerve on the start line with the division two fleet.
Results are now posted and show very close racing with times only seconds apart!
Thanks to Race Officers Gard and Craig, and also to Stuart for manning the Sailor's Support Boat ensuring safety on the water.
