Sailing Report - Sunday 14 October

A wet day on the river!

With the threat of stronger winds, the morning sailing for Tackers and Green Fleet was cancelled.

However, the stronger winds never really reached the river, but the water was quite murky from rain over over the past week with a strong current flow. Given the conditions, it was decided to continue with the afternoon Long Course Racing, but only a small fleet launched to tackle the course set by RO Craig assisted by Gard, with Stuart manning the Support RIB.

John Henry enjoyed sailing his new Laser for the first time and established quite a margin over Rob - a sign of things to come in future weeks? In the three-boat Sabre Fleet, Rhys Jones led both John Ladewig and Mike Groves around the course in both races. Riley House was the only Junior to sail and handled the tricky conditions quite well - a measure of his improvement over the past few months.

Next Week - Sunday 21 October

Hopefully we will soon find some pleasant sailing weather!

Morning - Adventure Sailing, Tackers 3 and Green Fleet Training

Afternoon - Short Course Racing - 5 heats. A Race Officer is needed for the afternoon - Have you done your turn?
