Great to see so much activity on the River!

A Fleet of 25 boats contested the Afternoon Racing - wth three boats sailing in the Junior Races over a modified course.A steady moderate Easterly breeze and a high tide provided ideal sailing conditions. Race Officer, Wayne Ashworth, set a Figure-of-Eight course with a Double Windward mark to provide safer port roundings. Sevral injured sailors provided on-water support for the fleet, assisted by a few parents.

In the Laser Division, Dave Krempin continues to be hard to catch, but there was great competition throughout the Fleet of 12 boats  with several mark roundings 4 boats wide. It was a case of one simple error in strategy giving a slight advantage to your competitors and making it difficult to catch up.

In Division 2,  8 Sabres and 1 Pacer contested the two races. Rhy Jones has his Sabre going nicely, and led the fleet home in both races but John Ladewig and Graeme Hattrick kept him under pressure. Even at the back of the Fleet, a little way behind, Antony, Peter and Mike had ongoing tussles throughout the afternoon.

Results are now posted - see our Results page.

NEXT SUNDAY - 28 January  - Five heats of the Summer Short Course Series with Race Officer Wayne Ashworth.

In the morning, Tackers 2 sailors will use the Tackers boats for the first day of their summer course.
